4 Strategies to Find your Path in the Family Business
Nov 16 @ 12:15 pm – 1:00 pm

It can be easy to get lost in a family business. Not knowing who you are and what you want to from what the family, key leaders, and anyone who has an opinion or stake in your or the business’s future. Constant conflict or shutting down to what you want are common when trying your best to navigate a win-win-win. Sadly, what we forget is we often lose in that scenario. Balancing self, family, and business requires proactive work, otherwise, resentment builds.

Family members who work in a family business have to work harder to find personal independence because they are so close to “the tree” of family and key leader stereotypes, and the baggage that can come from assumed enablement of the family business environment.

This discussion focuses on 4 strategies to fulfill your personal goals and create an environment for you to be the best you can be for yourself and those around you.

Presenter is Kendall Rawls, the Rawls Group.  Kendall has done other webinars for our group.

How to Foster an Environment of Retention at your Company
Feb 1 @ 12:15 pm – 1:00 pm

Presented by Gerry Brien, Senior Vice President of Consumer Focus Marketing with special Guest Marty Kirshner, Partner and Chair of Energy Practice at Gray, Gray & Gray and Gray

Younger generations of employees don’t stay in job roles as long as their retiring counterparts did. This is a challenge with which the energy industry in particular is struggling. Fortunately, we have a solution.

In this presentation, you’ll learn how employers can solve the pressing issue of a flighty workforce. Tactics such as focus groups allow your CSRs, drivers, technicians, and other staff to share what is and isn’t working within your company. Working with your employees shows that you truly care about fostering an environment of retention at your company by listening to the feedback your team has for you.

Listening to your employees also helps your company grow. Happy, listened-to employees refer others to their workplace, speak highly of you as an employer, and stay in their roles without looking elsewhere for work. In addition, it’s cost effective to retain your existing workforce; the Employee Benefits Network reports that it can cost as much as 33% of an employee’s annual salary to replace them.

Marty Kirshner of Gray, Gray & Gray will be joining the webinar to share creative ideas on how to retain your employees and how to make your company a magnet for future career seekers.

Your existing employees are your most valuable asset and the most crucial element of your company’s longevity—attend this webinar to learn specific strategies on how to keep them around.
