Late 2018, Women in Energy began hosting Webinar Wednesdays.  Each webinar begins at 12:15 pm and lasts for 30-45 minutes.  So grab your lunch, join fellow members and tune into one of our webinars.  All our webinars are presented by our Corporate and Individual members and other industry experts.

With inflation at a 40-year high, investors are faced with challenges to stretch their dollars optimally to meet both short term and long term savings and investment goals.  In this webinar, we will review 9 critical personal finance steps to set yourself up for success going in to the new year while managing the challenges this current inflationary environment presents.

Presenter:

As Vice President, Retirement Services at Marsh McLennan New England (MMA), Lisa Buffington, works with for profit and non-profit organizations’ finance, human resources, and benefits groups to assist with all aspects of their retirement plans including fiduciary oversight, fee and investment benchmarking, as well as participant engagement and financial wellbeing strategies.

Lisa has a strong passion for women’s professional development, financial literacy education, and urban city K-12 educational reform.  She is the past president of the Women in Pensions Network’s (WIPN) national group (WIPN) and worked with the team responsible for launching WIPN’s non-profit, and now currently co-chairs WIPN’s Connecticut Regional Chapter.  She is the board chair for a start-up non-profit charter management organization, Capital Preparatory Schools, and is actively involved in Junior Achievement.  She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a degree in Business Management.  Lisa obtained the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) and Certified Plan Financial Advisor (CPFA) designations, and currently holds FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses.  Lisa has been named one of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) Top Women Advisors for 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

I have found that gaining confidence and overcoming my fear of public speaking enabled me to transition to a software consulting role engaging in impromptu speaking and presentations regularly where before, I would have hidden under my desk.
